Dr. Bob Huss served as director of Housing and Residential Life at Oklahoma State University from 1985 to 2008.  During that time, he saw the number of residence halls grow from 9 to 26.  Dr. Huss actively worked to develop graduate assistant positions and taught in the College Student Development department for many years.  Bob not only served the campus community, but his local Stillwater community as well, serving on the Stillwater Public Schools Board of Directors, coaching youth soccer, and driving a school bus.  Bob and Joanne Huss retired to Tennessee to be near their two children and five grandchildren.

Bob served SWACUHO as State Director, CHO Liaison, Host Committee Chair, and President.  He received the Bob Cooke Distinguished Service Award and the James L. "Jim" Gibson Exceptional Service Award.

These four wards (two for Texas and one each for both Arkansas and Oklahoma) will be in the form of a plaque, which will be presented to the student or a representative from their institution, assuming the student is not in attendance, at the SWACUHO Annual Conference.

Criteria for Selection:

The nominee must:

• Currently be an enrolled graduate student.
• Currently be living in a residence hall.
• Attending a SWACUHO member institution.
• Have contributed significantly to residence hall living and to the university community on their campus.

Preference will be given to students who are working or plan to work in the student services area, especially within university housing or residence life.

Complete nomination packets must include a copy of the nominee's current résumé.  Additional endorsement letters may be submitted by the graduate program director, a current graduate professor, and/or a current graduate cohort member.  Please include no more than two (2) additional endorsement letters.
